I'm really excited to get this thing started. I've never done anything like this before, but it's something that's been in the back of my mind for a long time (we're talking I tried to start a market in my bedroom when I was 8-years-old, that kind of long time). As a vendor at many a market, and many an overpriced market at that, I think it will be exciting to do something not only for myself, but for other makers in the Chicago area who might be struggling to pay $200-900 fees just hoping they'll make enough to have a profit at the end of the day.

I'll be going over some of the applications this week, and starting to choose a variety of artists and makers to best represent the first ever Maker's Market. The deadline to register/apply is September 6th, so fill it out soon if you're interested.
